Easter Morning

We had a terrific Easter Morning. Connor's closest friend, Spencer, from St. George was able to be there with us. This year we left a note for the Bunny to not hide the hard boiled eggs we colored. So instead the Bunny filled plastic eggs with coins and dollars...that made the "hunt" a lot more competitive. They were only allowed to find 10 eggs each and then they were finished & had to leave the others for everyone else. The excitement was... when you cracked your egg open was it a bunch of pennies, quarters, a dollar bill or twenty's. I loved watching the kids faces as I explained the rules and what they could potentially get...it was priceless!

Favorite Friends

My dearest friend, Brynnley, that I've known since I was 13, has these 4 amazing little girls that I just can't get enough of! I feel so blessed to have their family live right here in Las Vegas!!! My girls consider them their very closest friends. Maddie, Hannah, Eliza, and Livy. The 3 youngest came over for a "play date" We went to the park and colored Easter Eggs. The baby of the group, Livy, LOVES to just talk and talk and talk...She's this little tiny little peanut that thinks she's a big girl. Just ask her, she'll tell you. She's my little shadow. They are all so beautiful and I love all 4 of them to pieces! My girls think they are the best!

Popcorn Plant Update

The girls "popcorn plants are doing so well. When they grow up they want to be just like the tree above. Our street in our neighborhood is lined with these beautiful fluffy white trees. We even occasionally get a purple one. Spring has officially arrived here in Las Vegas!

Tami's Birthday

One of my very closest friends Tami, turned the BIG Five-O on March 9th. I went up to St. George for her Birthday Brunch. Afterwards her amazing hubby, Gary had everyone over for cake and ice cream...the funny part...Gary dropped the cake and managed a perfect save by catching it with his pants! It's always something exciting when I'm with them. They make me smile all the time. I am so grateful for their friendship!

Red Rock

We were so spoiled in St. George, UT. We lived in a neighborhood were the house in front of us backed up a 400,000 acre tortoise reserve of red rocks. We had amazing views of Snow Canyon and the trail head happen to be just a few houses down from ours. On a daily basis we went hiking in one of the most beautiful places I've seen. We all love the outdoors. Since we've been in Vegas we have been going through withdraws.
I took the kids to Las Vegas' Red Rock Park today to go hiking. We ended up going on a hiking adventure!! We scaled big boulders (the majority of it) and hiked in water, sand, and gravel to get to "Calico Bowl" (a HUGE natural bowl in the rocks that collects water). We even saw a wild burrow. From the top there was this unobstructed view of the Las Vegas Valley and the Strip. It was so peaceful and breathtaking. It was perfect!

Sunny Days

After we got the kids off to school Sydney wanted to have a "fun day". She wanted go on a picnic. I agreed so we made special sandwiches and cut up grapes. We sat outside and quickly realized it was a beautiful day. 76 degrees actually. So we ran inside and put on our swimsuits so we could catch some rays. It felt so good and we had "fun". Since Sydney was little she told me that she never wants to grow up and she never wants to get bigger than Alex is today. For a girl that's obsessed with Fairy tales and Princesses it shocked me when she said she never wants to get married or have babies. She just wants to live with me FOREVER.
As we sat in the sun she said that when she grows up (I'm getting a little excited about the growing up part) she wants to call me and meet me to have massages (my favorite thing to do). We could bring our swimsuits and go swimming afterwards. She could do it while her husband was working (she wants to get married!) and her kids (yes! she wants kids) were at school and the baby was at a babysitters! I said "Sydney, I'm so happy you want to grow up now. I'm so excited you want to get married and have babies and live on your own one day" and she replied "Yes mommy, but I'm still going to live with you forever."

Alex & Molly

Could Alex's day have been any better? When we moved from Las Vegas to St.George Alex cried and cried about how much she would miss her BFF Molly. They had been best friends since Kindergarten and couldn't get enough of each other. As parents we had to monitor their time together because they were "out of control" giggling and screaming. Alex spend a few weekends in Las Vegas with Molly after our move until Molly's family moved to Virginia. Her father was accepted for the US Ambassador Program and they were soon sent to Costa Rica to live. Alex was devastated (for me, I thought: what a great place to go visit). On Sunday Sydney needed her "walk" during church and we ran into an old friend in the hallway. She said Molly's mom had been trying to get a hold of me on my old number because they were in Vegas for the week. Within minutes Alex & Molly were reunited and the squeals began. They hung out the rest of the day together. She still has a huge smile on her face after a week! I guess I better start planning a vacation to Costa Rica.

The Boys & The Strip

Two of Connor's best Friends (Spencer & Zach) came down from St.George to spend the weekend with us. So you know me, the party planner, I asked what they wanted to do...anything...and I would take them. Knowing these 2 Utah boys well I figured they would want to go on a hike, or maybe to the indoor skydiving place...WRONG! They wanted to walk on the Strip. Do I dare take 3 teenagers down there? I did! We had a lot of fun. We watched the Bellagio's fountains and they took pictures for screen savers on their phones, we walked just about the whole Strip (until the scary part of town) and came back at night. Out of all their restaurant choices they picked In and Out Burgers of course!
